About This Safari
This 6-Day Great Migration Safari takes you across Tarangire, Central Serengeti, the Ndutu plains and Ngorongoro Crater, following the dramatic calving-season landscapes of Tanzania. Experience vast wildebeest herds, newborn calves, powerful predators and unforgettable wildlife encounters before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater and returning to Arusha.
In just 6 days, you’ll explore Tarangire’s elephant-rich landscapes, the wildlife-packed Central Serengeti and the Southern Serengeti/Ndutu area, where large herds gather during the calving season. January to March is generally associated with the southern Serengeti calving period, attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas.

The route combines the northern safari circuit with a dedicated Ndutu calving-season experience, allowing more time in the area rather than simply passing through. As with all Great Migration safaris, herd locations depend on rainfall and natural movements, but the itinerary is designed around one of the most reliable seasonal areas for witnessing the migration.

Depart from Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant populations, ancient baobab trees and seasonal wildlife concentrations.
Enjoy a full-day game drive across the park, with opportunities to see elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes and other wildlife before continuing to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
