5-Day Drive In, Fly Out Safari from Zanzibar

Morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, followed by a drive to Arusha National Park.

The experience here is different — you explore part of the park on foot with a ranger, moving through open areas and forest while observing wildlife at ground level. Giraffes, buffalo, and colobus monkeys are commonly seen.

The setting is calm, with Mount Meru in the background and varied landscapes throughout the park.

After breakfast, you drive to Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is known for its elephant herds and distinctive baobab trees. Wildlife often concentrates along the river, offering steady viewing in a quieter environment compared to other parks.

Game drives here are relaxed but rewarding, with chances to see lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birdlife.

Early departure toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The crater offers a compact but highly active wildlife environment, with strong chances to see lions, elephants, buffalo, and, occasionally, rhinos.

Transfer game drive toward Serengeti National Park. The landscape opens gradually into wide plains as you approach.

A clear transition: enclosed and dense to wide and open.

Today is dedicated to exploring Central Serengeti.

This region offers some of the most consistent wildlife viewing in Tanzania, especially for predators. Game drives may include lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and large herds of grazers.

The open plains and scattered kopjes create a classic Serengeti setting, with wildlife movement throughout the day.

A strong core day: active, open, and unpredictable.

You begin with a final half-day game drive in the Serengeti.

This is your last chance to follow wildlife across the plains — often with good activity in the early morning.

Later, you transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.
