3 Day Safari from Zanzibar: Northern Circuit Active

After your morning flight from Zanzibar, your safari begins in Arusha National Park — a fresh and green introduction to northern Tanzania. At the foot of Mount Meru, the landscape feels calm, intimate, and scenic.

 Game drives through forest and open grassland often reveal giraffes, buffalo, warthogs, and black-and-white colobus monkeys moving through the treetops.

 The highlight is a ranger-guided walking safari, where tracks, sounds, and small details come alive. Later, the Momella Lakes add a scenic contrast with waterbirds and views toward Mount Meru.

Today’s journey leads into Tarangire National Park, where the scenery opens into classic northern Tanzanian savannah. Wide plains, acacia woodland, and towering baobabs create a distinctly wild atmosphere.

 Tarangire is renowned for its elephant families, often seen moving along ancient paths toward the Tarangire River. Giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest are common, and lions may appear in the tall grass.

 From the crater rim, a vast natural basin unfolds below. Descending to the crater floor reveals dense wildlife viewing, including lions, wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, and hippos.

 With luck, leopard or black rhino may appear, although rhinos are rarely seen. After the ascent, you continue to Arusha for your return flight back to Zanzibar.
