Zanzíbar

Zanzibar is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to finish a Tanzania safari — giving travellers time to slow down, swim, explore Stone Town and recover after early game drives and long safari days.

Zanzibar brings together beach, history and island rhythm in one easy extension. One day can be about swimming and sunsets, the next about Stone Town streets, spice farms, dhow sailing or the quiet tide patterns of the east coast.

Zanzibar usually works best after safari, not before. The most common route is to visit Tanzania's mainland parks first, then fly to the island for beach time, Stone Town and a slower finish.

Most travellers add Zanzibar after a mainland safari because it gives the trip a natural rhythm: wildlife first, beach second. After early starts and long game drives, the island gives space to rest before flying home.
