Hippo trails camp

Hippo Trails Camp is a comfortable tented safari camp located inside Serengeti National Park, near Retima Hippo Pool and approximately 21 kilometres from Seronera Airstrip. Set on the slopes of Banagi Hill with views towards the river, the camp provides a peaceful wilderness setting and convenient access to some of the wildlife-rich areas of Central Serengeti.

Accommodation consists of 10 luxury safari tents and two family tents, all elevated on wooden platforms. The spacious tents feature king or twin beds, natural wooden floors, a sitting area, writing desk, luggage storage and a private veranda with safari chairs. Each tent also has an en-suite bathroom with a flushing toilet, vanity area and hot and cold running water.

The camp operates using solar power, which provides electricity and hot water. Charging facilities are available inside the tents, while bottled drinking water is also provided for guests.

A large communal tent forms the heart of the camp, with separate dining and comfortable lounge areas connected by a veranda. Guests can enjoy meals at the camp, relax with a drink from the bar or use complimentary Wi-Fi in the common areas. When conditions permit, evenings can be spent around the campfire enjoying the sounds and atmosphere of the Serengeti after dark.

Hippo Trails Camp's location near Retima Hippo Pool provides an excellent base for wildlife viewing across Central and northern Serengeti. Guests can depart directly on morning or full-day game drives, with picnic meals available for longer days exploring the park.
